Meet Sakura!
August 04, 2008

Sakura is an incredibly loving Shiba girl, full of kisses and big goofy smiles.  She was transferred from another rescue group along with three other females (including her sister Kaya) and a male.  Even though she had never been out of a kennel before, within a few hours she was exploring her new surroundings, and within one day she was seeking out petting and attention.  Within two days she was happily walking on a leash, and within five days she was going on very long walks to the dog beach and woods by Belmont Harbor.  She’s such a fast learner!

Sakura is a little attention hound and loves to be close to her new human companion.  She is so happy living her new life as a beloved pet.  She has discovered the joys of squeaky toys (even trying to play fetch!) and yummy rawhide bones.

She does very well living with other dogs (I have three other Shibas at the moment, one of which is her sister Kaya).  She goes on lots of walks with two other Shibas at the same time.  Sakura would do just fine if placed in a home with another friendly and playful canine companion, although she would also do very well if placed as the sole dog in a home, providing she receives lots and lots of human attention.  She does just fine with my cat.

Sakura would make a fantastic lure courser and agility dog.  You should see her jump over puddles!  She loves to go on walks and would do best with a family that can commit to taking her on big walks.

Sakura will make an excellent companion for someone who wants a very loving and loyal Shiba.  She is very eager to please and incredibly endearing.  She is a huge joy to have around and just wants to be loved and loved.
